3 Easy & Effective Desk Exercises for a Busy Workday

A long and tough workday. It’s something we all face at some point during the year. Sitting at a desk all day may sound cushy and comfortable, but it can take a toll on your health. If you’re encountering a long workday where it seems likely that you’ll miss your trip to the gym, just know that you can still fit in a quick workout.

Here are some quick and easy exercises that you can complete at your desk or in your office. They only take a few minutes and can dramatically increase your energy and mindset for the day.

1. Chair Dips: Using an office chair with wheels, grab on to the edge of the seat and let the chair roll back as you go down. Stop when your upper arms are parallel to the floor. Pull that chair towards you to get back up again. Repeat 10 times.

2. Neck Stretch: Place your hands in your lap while sitting down. Tilt your right ear over your right shoulder and slowly keep bending as far as you can comfortably go. Then tilt your chin up to the ceiling and hold for a few seconds. Repeat this on your left side.

3. Leg Extension: While sitting in your chair, extend one leg straight out in front of you and hold for two seconds. Then raise it up as high as you can, and hold again for two seconds. Repeat with each leg 15 times.
